This year's Silverrudder was one for the record books in terms of entries, but not in terms of the pace around Funen in the middle of Denmark. The entire field had a fantastic start, but later on, many boats lost many hours due to calm winds on the second half of the run around Funen.

When the Women’s Match Racing World Championship starts today in Middelfart, Denmark, it will feature a full fleet of Blu26's - all equipped with the eXRP Cruise laminate from Elvstrøm Sails. Karl Otto and Maren Magda Book are known for being up to a new challenge, and this past weekend, they managed quite a feat at the ORC DH Euros in Helsingør, Denmark. Here, they won overall and in Class A for the biggest boats in the event, racing well known machinery in the shape of "White Shadow" - a Landmark 43, which they normally crew in Norway and in ORCi-events.
Et crosscut (x-cut) sejl består af et antal horisontale parallelle paneler, der ligger 90 grader på agterliget. Det er en effektiv og økonomisk måde at producere holdbare sejl på. Som det første sejldesign på markedet har det bevist sit værd. Crosscut sejl fremstilles typisk af vævet polyester dug med lige skudtråde, der er stærkere end kædetrådene. De stærke skudtråde ligger i belastningsretningen af sejlet og giver dermed et meget holdbart sejl.
Det trioptimale layout går også under navnet radial, da panelerne er radiale mod hjørnerne af sejlet, der giver den triangulære facon. Sejldesignet gør, at belastningen på sejlet fordeles mere effektivt og dermed holder sejlet bedre sin form. Panelerne i det radiale layout er nøje placeret i forhold til belastningen for at opnå den bedste stabilitet. Modvindssejl i trioptimal layout er typisk lavet af et laminat, der er en sandwich dug bestående af flere lag. Men det trioptimale layout anvendes også til medvindssejl, der typisk fremstilles af nylon.
