She is a lady!

A really good-looking high-performing one of a kind. Well, she is actually a Ker 46. With a full and complete set of inshore as well as offshore set of racing sails from Elvstrøm Sails – EPEX of course!

Daniel Hardy, a professional captain who runs the private fleet that the Lady Mariposa is part of knows Elvstrøm Sails for many years now. “My first point of contact was Jesper Bank whom I met at a regatta (Oyster Palma Regatta 2013). At that time we did not have the Ker 46 in the fleet but an Oyster 625.  An Oyster 885, Karibu that had fantastic looking set of sails, intrigued me, to work with Elvstrøm Sails for our fleet. Jesper Bank soon became heavily involved in assisting us in making an interesting set of racing sails for our “old” Oyster 625,  – who is really not a racing yacht.”

The new kid in town

The Ker 46 is the brand new racing member of the fleet. And she is going to be a busy lady, going for Warsash Spring Series, Solent UK, the RORC North Sea Race, The North Sea Regatta, Schveningen Holland, Round the Island Race, Solent UK, the RORC St Malo Race, Royal Southern regatta, Solent UK, the Cowes week, Solent UK and the RORC Cherbourg race – and that´s just the beginning. The crew of 12 professional and semi-professional members will aim for offshore races in 2017.

“We started training this winter in Palma and with three training sessions behind us we´ve had a very good start”, Daniel explains. “To us the support from Elvstrøm Sails has been a predominant factor in the choice of sail maker. Elvstrøm Sails has guided us in the right direction, but at our pace. It very soon became clear to us that the support Elvstrøm Sails was committed to put into this was very important to us. Even in the very first design phase your sail designers were in close contact with rig designers. And with the facilities in both Palma and Hamble we feel confident that we´re in good hands if anything comes up”. Back in Palma, Mike from waterline media captured some great photos of the Lady.
