Marstrand Big Boat Race 2018

Once again, all the keen sailors from Scandinavia, and Germany gathered in Marstrand for intense racing and great social events. 72 boats, divided in 2 classes makes this one of the largest races in Northern Europe.

In the class for the big boats, Torkjel Valland with his crew on White Shadow sailed very consistent with the series 1,2,2,4,1 and claimed as in 2016 and 2014 the victory. On second place, Claus Landmark and crew in Santa proved that the speed was still intact with 3 bullets a 5th and a 10th as counting results.

Both these boats are with full sail inventory from Elvstrøm Sails, also some new ones for this season, and even though they were not the biggest boats in the class they were often fighting for the line honor.

The next big race for these two teams will be the ORC / IRC world Championship in The Hague – Netherlands in July were Santa is the defending champion.

Well done & good luck to these cool teams!
