As per tradition, the European Yacht of the Year awards are an integrated part of Boot in Düsseldorf. And at Boot 2024, awards were handed out to crown the top boats across five categories judged by the leading European yacht magazines.

It is also a celebration of the year in yachting and the latest innovations - and we are happy to announce that Elvstrøm Sails features on the winning boats in the Family Cruiser, Special Yacht and Special Mentioning Sustainability awards this year.

Congratulations to all winners and nominees!

Family Cruiser - Bavaria C46

The family cruiser category was alongside the Special Yacht Award the broadest at this year's edition of EYOTY - it went to Bavaria and the new C46 in competition with six other nominees.

The jury were impressed with a number of features on the C46, namely how it combines being spacious, yet maintaining great handling. The fit and finish of the C46 also scored well with the judging team.

Special Yacht - Saffier SE 24 Lite

The Dutch yard Saffier introduced the striking green SE 24 Lite which has proved itself as a strong hit when it comes to daysailers - and it made it to the awards by outscoring six other nominees. The judges highlight the combination of a clever design and the razor sharp handling on the SE24.

Special Mentioning Sustainability - Bestevaer 36

Sustainability is one of the key points of the Bestevaer 36. The Bestevaer 36 features an aluminium hull, and essentially this is a 50 foot expedition yacht for polar expeditions - scaled down to 36 feet. This makes it the smallest yacht ever under the Bestevaer name from dutch KM Yachtbuilders.

It won the Special Mentioning in Sustainability for its approach to sustainability.

The 36 features three interior styles which all feature local, sustainable or recycled materials. The 36 comes with Elvstrøm Sails eXRP sails from our EKKO Option line, and it has electric propulsion. The hull is also manufactured in part from recycled aluminium - 63% of the material in the hull is from recycled sources.
