With XYLO we introduce a spread-filament tape layout. The XYLO distinction derives from exactly the structure of the filament that is laid out to give you optimum strength in all directions.
Uniting new and existing technologies
With XYLO, Elvstrøm Sails has taken the next step in sail technology. The new product combines 70 years of sail making and knowhow with the latest in material science and design studies.
Thus, XYLO differs on the technology. This is our first product using a spread filament type of tape layout - a layout, which has enabled us to optimize the fibre coverage of the sail. This leaves you with with an extremely strong and stable sail.
The flat, multi-directional filament is laid out in a straight direction supporting the natural force of the sail. Combined with an ultra-thin taffeta, it makes the sail hold its shape very homogeneously.
XYLO is available in black with fully black-in-black solutions. It uses Technora Black fibres, and combined with the black taffeta and auxcillaries.
