Maestro Racing Main Sail - Nanno, Carbon/Aramid Black

EPEX nanno combines our second-to-none Vacuum-Infusion Technology with state-of-the-art composite material science to a light, easy and smooth to handle, yet durable performance sail.  The choice for the connoisseur sailor! With the new generation of flat carbon fibres and integrated carbon filament reinforcements the EPEX nanno features a lighter and thinner core structure, with no compromise on stretch and shape.

Material

EPEX nanno features a strong and light structure. On both sides of the flat spreaded carbon fibers and the regular Aramid Black fibers, an ultrathin film adds diagonal strength and a mono-and micro polyester surface in light grey adds protection against wear and tear. The integrated Absorption Power Strips™  made from a strong carbon filament add additional power distribution to typical overstressed areas of the sail.

    Fat Head Main

    Sail Type
    An optimum designed square head mainsail makes the tuning easier. When the wind increases, the top of the sail will twist, and the result is a flatter sail. In light wind the extra sail area gives the boat more power.

    The square head mainsail is with full battens in the upper part, but very often with shorter battens in the lower part to save weight and improve trimming capabilities.

    This mainsail will be 100 % custom built based on thorough discussions between you and our sales and design team. The sail will be fully optimized to boat, rigging and rules.

    Normal options to include are reef(s) prepared for single line or hook, slides, loose foot, sail number, trim stripes (also reflective), cunningham, over-head leech line, but other options are also available.

    When to use
    The fathead can be used in all weather conditions – upwind and downwind. For heavy wind conditions the sail can be reefed.
  • Conventional Main - short battens

    Conventional Main - short battens

    Sail Type
    The conventional mainsail with short battens still has full top batten. Having shorter battens in the lower parts of the sail makes the trimming and depowering easier. Short battens also make the sail weigh less and is normally the preferred choice for racing.

    The sail can be delivered with slides or luff rope, reefs and all other necessary options, for instance: trim stripes, sail numbers, cunningham, over-head leech line, loose foot and sail bag.

    When to use
    The conventional mainsail with short battens can be used in all weather conditions – upwind and downwind. For heavy wind conditions the sail area can be reduced by reefing.
  • Conventional Main - full battens

    Conventional Main - full battens

    Sail Type
    The horizontal full battens in the conventional mainsail help keep the shape of the sail, and when lowering the sail, it practically packs itself into the lazy jack or zippack.

    As the sail is easy to use and stable, it is a favorite sail for many cruisers.

    The sail can be delivered with slides or luff rope, reefs and all other necessary options, for instance: trim stripes, sail numbers, cunningham, over-head leech line, loose foot and sail bag

  • EMS FatFurl Main

    EMS FatFurl Main

    Sail Type
    The FatFurl in mast furling mainsail, only available at Elvstrøm Sails, is specially designed with optimum shape and maximum sail area for all modern High-Performance Cruisers.

    The FatFurl is larger than a conventional horizontally battened mainsail.

    The continuous vertical battens with carbon top provide maximum support for the leech, whether the sail is fully deployed or reefed. The full battens are also to be used as reefing points, stretching the reefed luff and making the sail flat and efficient. The short intermediate battens have the same function.

    The EPEX layout ensures an optimum fiber distribution and a strong and stable sail.

    Normal options to include are clew block, clew UV cover, reefing marks and sail bag. Sail number, trimstripes and other options are also available.

    The FatFurl in mast furling mainsail can be used in all weather conditions – upwind and downwind. For heavy wind conditions the sail area can be reduced by furling in the sail partly.
  • In-Boom Furling Main

    In-Boom Furling Main

    Sail Type
    The in-boom furling mainsail is custom made for all furling boom types.

    The horizontal full battens help keep the shape and ensure that the furling into the boom runs without problems. The lowest battens are also working as reefing point as they stretch out the reefed down mainsail.

    Normal options to include are top UV cover, reefing marks, sail bag, sail number, trim stripes, and other options are also available.

    Available in trioptimal and EPEX.

    When to use
    The in-boom furling mainsail can be used in all weather conditions – upwind and downwind. For heavy wind conditions the sail area can be reduced by furling the sail partly in to the boom.
