Palby Fyn Cup 2016

Palby Fyn Cup started out with hardly no wind! But that didn´t stop Jens Quorning with his Dragonfire who was first over the line! The overall winner was a Melges 32, Challenger.
Elvstrøm Sails was nicely represented on many of the yachts, and indeed doing very well. The X 41 Sydbank had a great start, and was up front in the group of big boats. On the first beat to Fynshoved, the Elvstrøm powered boats in the big boat class had an intense fight internally, and also against other close competitors. The X 41 Sydbank, XP 44 Xpresso, Sly 43 Joki, X 41 Visione 5, X 37 Ventoux and X 35 Foxy Lady all did very well, and were among the first boats to go down in Storebælt, heading for the Bridge.
Svendborgsund challenged the boats at night, struggling against the current and with no wind. Some came out a little earlier than others, and especially the XP 44 Xpresso did great in that part of the race, keeping up momentum all the way to Bogense, ending up as winner of the class.
The overall winner from 2015, the Elvstrøm Sails equipped Scan Cap 99 Sort Sol did very well again, but this year as second in class in the group of middle sized boats.
A great event and the biggest of its kind in Denmark!
